Ars reviews a report by Forrester Research about the cost of providing email for an enterprise. They find that Gmail (specifically Google Apps) can cost up to one-third less than hosted, on-site email provision. And a lot of that cost savings comes from dealing with spam and malware (which Gmail has great filters for). CIO.com also covers the report.
